Be sure to click on the sidebar of our photo gallery to view new pictures of various events. New photos will now be added periodically for your enjoyment.
ATTENTION MEMBERS: For those who are not aware, Post 28 operates from a fiscal year beginning July 1 through June 30. Dues are payable each year after July 1. 2011 cards will come out in late June. As of January 1, if you have not paid your dues, you are delinquent. Please consider sending them in soon or stop by your Post and pay in person to stay in good standing as a member of Post 28.
NOTARY PUBLIC
Post 28 now has a notary public. Any member needing to have a document notarized can see Jerry Payton at the Post.
ITEMS FOR THE TROOPS
Several people have been asking how to get personal items to our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. There are a couple of local locations where you can drop off items. These locations are: Scheller's Fitness and Cycling on Veterans Parkway in Clarksville or any Jackson-Hewitt Tax Service location. Personal items may include deodorant, toothpaste, lotion, chewing gum, mints, hard candy, razors, body wash, eye drops, hand sanitizer, moist towelettes, peanut butter, Neosporin, bandages, sunblock, aloe vera gel, nasal spray, and pain relievers.
COLOR GUARD
Post 28 is in need of putting together a Color Guard Unit. It has been a long time since we have actually had one. If you are interested in volunteering to be a Color Guard member, please contact Jerry Payton in the office. Jerry will see that your name gets passed on to the proper person.
Membership Update - Legionnaires
July 1 begins a new fiscal year on membership. Your 2011 cards will be available in late June. Legion dues is only $35.00 per year which buys you much more than that if you get involved with your Post. Also, don't forget that P.U.F.L. memberships are an option as well. Information and applications are available at your Post. Cost is calculated according to your age and a special reduced price offered by Post 28. See Adjutant Jerry Payton or one of the other officers for additional information.
If you did not pay your 2010 membership dues, please do so immediately. Your dues continues to help support the involvement of all the programs of Post 28 for veterans and youth in our community.
